MD Anderson Cancer Center Foundation is offering a postdoctoral research position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a Patient Centered Research environment.
The position is granted for the Hematological Neoplasms Group, leaded by Dr. Juan F. García.
Main research lines are based on:
- Identification of lymphomagenesis mechanisms, especially in Hodgkin's lymphoma and other aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (diffuse large B-cell lymphomas and T-cell lymphomas).
- Identification and validation of functional phenotypes from the Tumor Microenvironment: the contributions of elements of the microenvironment to lymphoma proliferation, survival and immune escape.
- Molecular alterations of prognostic and predictive value.
Candidates must have a recent PhD related to Life Sciences fields (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedicine…) and experience with research projects on Translational Onco-hematology.
Required skills and expertise in cancer translational research:
- Basic immune and molecular techniques (PCR, Q-PCR, ELISA, WB, …).
- Cellular and Molecular Biology, functional models with human cell cultures (normal patient-derived cells and continuous/cancer cell lines), 3D-culturesand optimization of patient-derived organoids.
- Genomics and transcriptomics methods (NGS, in-house developed targeted panels, Nanostring, RNA-seq,…).
- Statistics software (SPSS, GraphPad Prism, …), data and digital analyses with R packages and common bioinformatics tools.
- Intelligence and autonomy for innovative research designs development.
Terms of employment:
- The position is granted by the Fundación MD Anderson Cancer Center Spain.
- The contract offered is for one year and can be extended for a further one until competitive financing is found. The objective of this proposal is to be able to start an independent research line.
